Kriminalmuseum Wien

In one of the oldest houses in the Leopoldstadt, the so-called "soap boiler house", which was shown to built long before the first documentary mention in 1685, the Vienna Crime Museum, combined with the traditional Museum of the Vienna Federal Police Directorate (formerly Imperial Police Museum) housed.

The museum consists of 20 rooms, where the history of the judiciary , the police organization and the crime from the Middle Ages to the new time is presented. There are medieval prisons and the last public executions shown in Vienna. Further interesting individual criminal cases such as that of the poisoner court judge or the case Josefine Luner from the interwar period shown.
The exhibits include many original documents and reproductions of criminal cases, court crime scene photos and texts, and body parts of executed criminals, including the skull of the child murderer Juliana Hummel and the Jacobin Franz Hebenstreit .
