The Candle of Our Lady of Victory is a pilgrimage from Nazareth to the Chapel of Our Lady of Victory in Walls, Alcobaça municipality, and whose origin is assumed traced back to the sixteenth century. Begins on Thursday morning of Ascension and part of the Shrine of Our Lady of Nazareth, the Site. After three laps of the Shrine, the angels recite the starting loa, followed by judges, brass band, horse companions and other devotees attending the ritual, scattered on the stairs of the Sanctuary and at Largo ("Terreiro"). All the procession goes to Paredes, a distance of about 11 km, today made partially the horse and carriage. Arriving at the Chapel of Our Lady of Victory, are given three laps around the same, the angels sing praises new, witnessing the mass and takes place a procession with its image. Before returning, the middle of the afternoon, after lunch and conviviality, are carried out the last three laps to the chapel and the angels sing the praises of farewell "to the Lady of Victory." Arrived at the site, in the "Horn", gives to "passing the flag," highlight of the festival, which ensures the continuity of the candle. Repeated three times around the Shrine of Our Lady of Nazareth and the intonation of the final praises by angels. The candle ends after traveled the main streets Beach, already in the late afternoon.
