Papeete, the capital of the island of Tahiti, is a city that confounds the tourist who arrives in search of paradise. Papeete has a chaotic traffic that starts early in the morning, a lot of people and noise in the streets.
You can view queues on the roads giving access to the port and the international airport since four in the morning. This must be taken into account when planning the departure time from the hotel to go to the port or the airport. Always allow extra minutes.
Papeete offers plenty of nightlife, concentrated in Pomaré Boulevard (seaside). There are nightclubs with music from typical (the slow resemble those sung by Hawaiians in the films of Elvis Presley) to clubs with techno.
One gets the impression that if you traveled a lot (about 24 hours) to reach a maximum at a place that looks nice with the mixture of Funchal.
