Lin Zexu is known for declaring the prohibition of the opium trade in Guangdong in the nineteenth century.

The Lin Zexu Memorial Museum is a tribute to him and his importance in the history of Macao.

The collection explains different themes like “Macao before the Inspection Tour”, “Ban on Opium Trade and Inspection of Macao”, “Eyes opened to the World” and “Everlasting Memorials” through photographs, replicas of boats, opium smoking instruments and calligraphy.
