Opened in 1951 by the actor Vincent Price, the Vincent Price Art Museum is the first “teaching art collection” owned by a community college, in this case the East Los Angeles College(ELAC).
In the actor collection is Mesoamerican, African, Native American, and European artworks.
Besides Price's family heritage, some artists joined the museum with their masterpieces such as Ral Angiano, Gronk, Rico LeBrun, Kate Steinitz, Patssi Valdez and Milford Zornes.
