Musée des Instruments de Musique

médio

The Musical Instrument Museum is located in the center of Brussels and is part of the Royal Museums of Art and History, where you can see a collection of over 8000 instruments.
The collection represents the history of Belgian music, the various European musical traditions and influences of the non-European world music.

Mechanical instruments are shown in the basement, the ground floor traditional instruments, the development of modern orchestral instruments on the first floor, and keyboard and stringed instruments, on the second floor.
Of note, the museum offers the recorder Rottenburgh, instruments invented by Adolphe Sax, the only set of stone chimes Chinese giant, and the only existing copy of luthéal, an instrument used by Ravel.
