Without diminishing the importance of books, a must see is 120 acres of specialized botanical gardens like the Japanese Garden, the Desert Garden, and the Chinese Garden.

This place has also an art collection that are divided in The Huntington Art Gallery, and the Virginia Steele Scott Galleries of American Art.

The permanent collection are European Art, American Art, Greene & Greene, and Prints & Drawings.
