Opened in 1882, the Cygnaeuksen Galleria is Finland's oldest art museum.
Has an impressive collection of mainly Finnish paintings and sculptures from the 19th century. The collection includes work from the artist brothers von Wright, Albert Edelfelt and Helene Schjerfbeck, as well as sculptures by Walter Runeberg and Johannes Takanen.
With a collectio of more than 450 pieces the gallery also hosts special exhibitions, and in addition to a variety of public events.
