The essential design of Fez is very easy, with the Medina separating the two cities: Fez el Bali (old Fez) and Fez el Djedid (new Fez), and a French-built Ville Nouvelle. Fez el Djedid is a beautiful place with a vast area of palaces and wonderful gardens. Fez el Bali is an incredible complex city with many puzzling lanes, souks and alleys.

By plane

TRAVELLING AROUND
The best way to visit the old city is on foot. You can get a licensed guide through your hotel to take you to the Medina. To travel around to the other parts of the city, the best option is to take a taxi.
