Koh Tao is one of our favorite destinations in Thailand. This is a small island in the Gulf of Thailand. It is a charming little island, also known as "turtle island" due to its geographical boundaries, and a sort of halfway between Samui and Phangan, without the hype associated with each. It is north of the most famous and developed Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, the island of frenzied full moon parties.

WHY GO
White sand beaches and crystal clear and warm waters.

The festive atmosphere and relaxed.

ORIENTATION

Koh Tao is the Gulf of Thailand north of Koh Samui.

HOW TO GET THERE

You can only get there by boat and almost all go to Mae Haad, a disorder that village, after all, can still retain the charm of the fishing village it once was. The best option is to fly to Koh Samui and then take a ferry to Koh Tao daily.

Alternatively from Bangkok, take a bus to Chumporn and then by boat to Koh Tao.

The best area to stay in Koh Tao's Sairee Beach is the most popular area of Koh Tao. It offers the most extensive beach of the island and is where are concentrated many of the leading dive centers, hotels, inns, restaurants and bars of the most interesting beach on the island.

WHEN TO GO

Koh Tao offers considered mild weather throughout most of the year. Exceptions to the season which runs from mid October until early December, where the northeast monsoon rains cause huge and make the stay less pleasant. If possible, avoid the high season, when there is often too many people to the small size of the island.

GETTING AROUND

It is best to rent a motorbike to travel the island and experience the paradisiacal beaches of the island of Koh Tao.
