Brussels is a great and cosmopolitan city, with almost 1 million inhabitants. There are many things to visit in this city, as for example, the Grand-Place, one of the most beautiful squares in the world, the Manneken Pis and many museums.
Brussels has a very interesting mix of different sides: its historical side with the narrow streets and the smoky cafés, the modern EU office, the Art Nouveau monuments, and of course, the Comics legends (Tintin and Smurfs).

ORIENTATION
The centre of the city is divided by Sablon Square, where there are many antiques stores. In this part of town, you must visit of Justice, on the Galgenberg.
BEST TIME TO GO
Brussels has a mild weather, therefore anytime is good to visit. The average temperatures in summer go up o 23º C and in winter down to 6º C.
HOW TO GET THERE
Brussels International Airport (www.brusselsairport.be/en/) is the city´s main airport - From there, a train (Euro 3.20) leaves every 15 minutes to Brussels Nord, taking 15 minutes. There is also a bus (numbers 12 and 21) every 20/30 minutes to the Place de Luxembourg district, from where the same ticket is valid for another 30 minutes on the metro or busses into the centre. A taxi to the centre costs around Euro 30.
TRAVELLING AROUND
It's quite easy to visit the city walking. But you can also use the public transport, which is very effective and includes bus, metro and tram (ww.stib.be). A card for ten rides costs Euro 12.30. One hour tickets cost Euro 1.70. There are also one-day tickets available, for Euro 4.50. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays you can take another person with you free of charge using the one-day ticket.
