Weimar is a historic site in Germany, mostly known for its heritage. It is located in Thuringia and has around 65.000 inhabitants. It was home of Goethe and Schiller, two of the most famous German poets and writers. Weimar has stunning scenery including seven parks and several historical gardens - many of which are included on the UNESCO World Heritage.

The nearest airport is in Erfurt but has few connections and high fares. The Leipzig Halle Airport (Flughafen) is the closest big airport and more used by tourists. It is an international airport, with most major cities one stop away.

Weimar is small and the best way to visit is by foot or bike. Weimar has a public transport system but as a tourist you won't need it.
