Fisherma's Bastion

for free

On Buda hill, on the Danube´s west bank, is the Fisherman´s Bastion. It is a Neo-Gothic and Neo-Romanesque-style lookout Designed by architect Frigyes Schulek and built in 1905, the white-stoned Fisherman´s Bastion is described as a combination of neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque - full of turrets, projections, parapets, and climbing stairways.

The Bastion takes its name from the guild of fishermen that was responsible for defending this stretch of the city walls in the Middle Ages.

It is a viewing terrace, with many stairs and walking paths.
