It is impossible to imagine a trip to Rio de Janeiro without a visit to Christ the Redeemer. Located on top of Corcovado Mountain, the monument is the best known Brazilian image in the world. Every year more than 600,000 people are led to Christ the Redeemer by the centenary of the Corcovado Railroad, the oldest tour of the country.

  In addition to be amazed to see the windows of the train the most beautiful landscapes in the Marvelous City, the passenger is a walk through the history of Brazil.

Opened in 1884 by Emperor D. Peter II, the Corcovado Train has led Popes, Kings, Princes, Presidents, artists and scientists.

The train crosses the largest urban forest in the world: the Tijuca National Park, a piece of the rainforest which is considered an example of nature conservation.

 

The line has 3.824 kilometers long and uses an electric drive system. It has four trains. The path is completed in about 20 minutes, and a train every half hour, which gives the system a capacity of carrying 360 passengers per hour.
