The whole world under one roof: discover the diversity of foreign lands with everything from African art to exotic flora and fauna and gold from the Americas.

The Ethnological Museum in the heart of Bremen takes visitors on a journey around the globe. Here you can travel through distant continents, explore Oceania's underwater paradises, marvel at Asia's legendary silk road, experience the tropical rainforest by night, or learn about the wildlife of the African savannah.

Since autumn 2010, the new permanent exhibition 'Discover what's changing the world' has been highlighting phenomena that affect the entire planet, such as climate change, human rights, migration, global trade, communication, sex & gender, and time.

Bremen Ethnological Museum, which was founded in 1896, offers 1.2 million exhibits and around 10,000 square metres of exhibition space. It ranks as one of the most important cultural institutions in northern Germany and is highly regarded nationally for its programme of major temporary exhibitions.
