The Arc de Triomphe is a monument that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, in Paris.

The arch is located at the end of the Champs Elysees, in the middle of the Place Charles de Gaulle, a large circular square from which no less than 12 streets emanate. The streets are named after French military leaders.

The arch was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to commemorate his victories, but he was ousted before the arch was completed. 

This impressive promenade stretches from the Place de la Concorde to the Place Charles de Gaulle, the site of the Arc de Triomphe. At its western end the Champs-Elysées is bordered by cinemas, theaters, cafés and luxury shops. Near the Place de la Concorde, the street is bordered by the Jardins des Champs-Elysées, beautifully arranged gardens with fountains and some grand buildings including the Grand and Petit Palais at the southern side and the Elysée at its northern side. The latter has been the residence of the French Presidents since 1873.

The Palace of Versailles or simply Versailles, is a royal chateau in Versailles, the Île-de-France. In French, it is known as the Chateau de Versailles.

When the chateau was built, Versailles was a country village; today, however, it is a suburb of Paris, some twenty kilometres southwest of the French capital.

The court of Versailles was the centre of political power in France from 1682, when Louis XIV moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in October 1789 after the beginning of the French Revolution.

Versailles is therefore famous not only as a building, but as a symbol of the system of absolute monarchy of the Ancien Régime.

The Eiffel Tower (La Tour Eiffel) is an 1889 iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris that has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world.

The tallest building in Paris, it is the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year.

Named for its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair.

You couldn't possibly visit Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. Even if you do not want to visit this world famous structure, you will see its top from all over Paris.

Midstream in the Seine, the Île de la Cité is Paris's birthplace, where a Celtic tribe known as the Parisii built their wattle settlement around 250 BC. The island is bound to the mainland by four bridges, including the city's oldest”the now mislabeled Pont Neuf ("new bridge"). To get a sense of what the island was like before Baron Haussmann totally redeveloped it, visit the archeological crypt (1 Place du Parvis de Notre-Dame; 33-1-55-42-50-10), the pretty Place Dauphine (Between Pont Neuf and Rue de Harlay), and the side streets on the north side of Notre-Dame. Sainte-Chapelle, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, is always mobbed for its stained glass; to beat the crowds, try going to an evening concert, especially in summer, when the days are long and the light through the stained glass is gorgeous until 10 p.m. (4 Blvd. du Palais). On the upstream tip of the island, behind Notre-Dame, the Deportation Memorial is a moving monument to French citizens who were deported and died in Nazi camps.

A real Parisian favourite, the Luxembourg Gardens are a beautiful 25 hectares green oasis on Paris fashionable left bank.

Spread with statues, fountains and flowers, the Luxembourg Gardens have many attractions for children: poneys, merry-go-round, puppet shows.

They are animated by students, children, lovers, outdoor chess and tennis players. 

This was the first French garden to be influenced by the Italian Baroque. The gardens, and the palace, were begun in 1612. The Luxembourg has long been seen as a quintessential Parisian space and remains very popular.

L'atelier des Chefs does not abide by any strict definition of 'Traditional Cuisine’. We wish our guests to discover the variety of tastes genuine French cuisine has to offer.

Each guest handles a knife and quality ingredients, and learns to prepare the recipe, watching our chef demonstrate its making. From there, the same recipe can be made at home.

You can eat your fare directly on site or take it home. L’Atelier des Chefs also hosts a shop where you can find cook books and a selection of fine foods and cooking equipment.

The bulbous white-stone domes of Sacré-Coeur (built from 1875 to 1919) are Montmartre's dreamy visual emblem, but its real appeal is far earthier. Lacking a port district as the usual venue for less-than-holy pleasures, mid-19th-century Parisians claimed this hilltop village as a place to escape from the pieties of bourgeois France.

Taverns, dives, and dance halls opened—some, like the iconic Moulin de la Galette, occupied the old windmills that crowned this breezy outcrop—and artists (Toulouse-Lautrec, of course, but also Picasso, Braque, Modigliani, and Utrillo) followed in search of provocative and accommodating subjects.

Today, nostalgia for the Belle Époque is an industry perpetuated in cafés, clubs, theaters, restaurants, bars, and boutiques centered on the Place du Tertre, the prototype tourist trap that's fascinating precisely for that reason

Notre Dame de Paris, also known as Notre Dame Cathedral, is a Gothic, Catholic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France.

It is the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Paris: that is, it is the church that contains the cathedra (official chair), of the Archbishop of Paris, currently André Vingt-Trois.The site of the Notre dame is the cradle of Paris and has always been the religious center of the city. 

Notre Dame de Paris is widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture in France and in Europe.

The cemetery in eastern Paris commonly referred to as “Père-Lachaise cemetery” is the city’s most prestigious and most widely-visited. To date, one million people have been buried there, and it is visited by more than two million people annually.

 its tombs bear the names of major figures from the worlds of literature, theatre and music.

Enclosed by a massive wall and lined with 5,000 trees, the peaceful, car-free lanes and dirt paths of Père Lachaise cemetery (Cimetière du Père Lachaise) encourage parklike meandering. Named for Father (Père) La Chaise, whose job was listening to Louis XIV's sins, the cemetery is relatively new, having opened in 1804 to accommodate Paris' expansion. Today, this city of the dead (pop. 70,000) still accepts new residents, but real estate prices are very high.

The 100-acre cemetery is big and confusing, with thousands of graves and tombs crammed every which way, and only a few pedestrian pathways to navigate by. The maps available from any of the nearby florists help guide your way. 

The Place de la Bastille is a square in Paris, where the Bastille prison stood until the 'Storming of the Bastille' and its subsequent physical destruction between 14 July 1789 and 14 July 1790 during the French Revolution; no vestige of it remains.

The square straddles 3 arrondissements of Paris, namely the 4th, 11th and 12th. The square and its surrounding areas are normally called simply Bastille.

The July Column (Colonne de Juillet) which commemorates the events of the July Revolution (1830) stands at the center of the square. Other notable features include the Bastille Opera, the Bastille subway station and a section of the Canal Saint Martin. Prior to 1984, the former Bastille railway station stood where the opera house now stands.

The square is often home to concerts and similar events. The north-eastern area of Bastille is busy at night due to many cafés, bars, night clubs, and concert halls.

As a consequence of its historical significance, the square is often used for political demonstrations, including the massive anti-CPE demonstration of 28 March 2006.
L'Opéra Bastille (Bastille Opera) is a modern opera house in Paris, France. It is the home base of the Opéra National de Paris and was designed to replace the Palais Garnier, which is nowadays mainly used for ballet performances.

The Sacré-Coeur Basilica is one of Paris's major tourist draws. The majestic building is located on top of the Montmartre hill.

Situated north of Paris, this stunning famous attraction is sometimes referred to as the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and is a firm favourite among tourists due to its beautiful architecture, history and views. The basilica is built on the highest point in Paris, and views from the top of Sacré-Coeur Basilica are some of the greatest you will experience while in Paris.

Inside, the church features a Romanesque style inspired by a previous church that had been restored by the same architect. Paul Abadie took this style and expanded upon it for the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, which features sublime architecture, statues, sculptures, murals, paintings and archways. The most notable statues inside are the 2 French Saints, Joan of Arc and King Saint Louis IX. These 2 bronze figures feature heavily at the triple arch, another classic architectural design that is admired in Sacré-Coeur Basilica. Another very popular attraction is the “Savoyarde”, or great bell. This huge bell weighs an astonishing 19 tons, making it one of the heaviest bells in the world.

The final show stopper can be seen from the top of the dome. A climb to the top provides a breathtaking view of the city of Paris. 

The Latin Quarter of Paris (Quartier latin) is an area in the 5th and parts of the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It is situated on the left bank of the River Seine, around the Sorbonne University.
Known for its student life, lively atmosphere and bistros, the Latin Quarter is the home to a number of higher education establishments. The area gets its name from the Latin language, which was once widely spoken in and around the University since Latin was the international language of learning in the Middle Ages.
