The Cathedral of San Nicolas de Bari is located in the old part of Alicante and this historic building is considered one of the emblems of the city. The present building dates from the 17th Century and it has a Renaissance facade and nave, and a 150 feet high dome. Inside is an 18th Century baroque chapel and a cloister with two baroque doors. Around the cathedral are the narrow streets of the old quarter of the city.
