This is one of the major squares of Budapest, rich with historic and political connotations. It lies at the end of Andr�ssy Avenue, next to City Park. Also is one of the most-visited attractions in Budapest, both by visitors and locals. The centerpiece of the square is the Millennium Monument, built in 1896 to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the Magyar conquest.
In the middle of Heroes' square stands a 36 meters high corinthian column with the statue of Archangel Gabriel on the top, the symbol of the Roman Catholic religion.
