The work of this military headquarters ends in 1884, in those days it had no military value, due to improvements in artillery techniques and population growth. It served as headquarters of the Artillery Regiment. During its history, the headquarters suffer several renovations until 1940, when it became the current Regional Military Museum of the Canaries. Currently the museum has various pieces, among which are:
The Cannon "Tiger", known because one of its shots caused various injuries to Admiral Horatio Nelson's arm.
The Cannon "Hercules".
Its funds make this museum one of the most important research centres in the Canary Islands with respect to historical cartography. The viewer can also see a part of all the weapons used in the fightings for the conquest of Tenerife.
