ORIENTATION
El-Jadida is located about 90 miles southwest of Casablanca. Its carved stone walls make this place does not look like much from the rest of Morocco.
The Portuguese built a huge fortress. With its bastions and ramparts, this is a good example of Renaissance military design. Today, the remaining buildings include the Church of the Assumption (built in the Manueline style of Gothic architecture).
