The Statens Museum for Kunst also known as the Danish National Gallery has three main collections: The Royal Collection of Painting and Sculpture, The Royal Collection of Graphic Art and The Royal Collection of Plaster Cast.

The museum collects, registers, maintains, researches in and handles Danish and foreign art dating from the 14th century till the present day, mostly with their origins in western culture circles.
