ORIENTATION
Ajaccio is located on the west coast of the island of Corsica, 390 km southeast of Marseille. It occupies a protected spot at the bottom of forested hills on the northern coast of the Gulf of Ajaccio.
The modern city encloses the entire harbour and its suburbs extend for some miles up the valley of the Gravona River.
BEST TIME TO GO
The weather in Ajaccio is very pleasant all year round, but in July and August gets really warm and perfect for sunbathing.
HOW TO GET THERE
The airport Campo dell' Oro is located about 8 km from the city centre. A taxi ride will take around half an hour and costs � 25.
There are also many ferries connecting Ajaccio to Marseille.
