This is one of the best known, emblematic features of Budapest. Historically, it has also been known as the Royal Palace, since it was the residence of the Hungarian monarchs. This hill is the place where Budapest was founded. It is a small, densely built rock, with the Buda Castle as the most prominent building.
It is a fascinating visit. The best proof of this is that in 1987 it was declared a World Heritage Site.
