This eatery next to Campo dei Fiori seems to get more popular as time passes, with long queues of locals and visitors trying to get a table each night.

As there are a lot of people wanting to dine here tonight, the guy organizing the ‘reservations‘ scribbles our name on a make-shift bookings list. He estimates that there’s a 20-minute wait so you either hang around and wait for your name to come up or you can do some window-shopping in via dei Giubbonari where there are lots of interesting shops, or stroll into Campo dei Fiori.

The square itself is bustling with activity in the evenings, so having to kill 20 minutes is not a hardship.

Dar Filettaro a Santa Barbara, at Largo dei Librari 88, is set in a little piazza just off the Campo dei Fiori square itself. They have tables in the restaurant as well as long wooden tables outdoors which are packed, elbow to elbow with diners. The filletti di baccal� are Euro 5.00 a piece and you can also get the fried cod to take away.

Beautiful place with modern decoration. The bottle wall behind the bar is astounding. The long bar is full of taps with nice Italian and some imported droughts. Full Balladin range. The finger food’s serving around looked attractive and especially the chips. Even if it’s noisy in busy days and less intimate than others, certainly it’s a must visit beer spot in Rome.

Societe Lutece is known as Rome's bohemian meeting place. Although located in the central part of Rome, just a short walk from Piazza Navona and Campo di Fiori, this bar is one you may have a hard time finding even if you've been there before. It's a great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat.

This blink-and-you-missed-it speakeasy-style cocktail bar just steps from Corso Vittorio is dedicated to Jerry Thomas, the author of the first American bar tending guide. His 1862 tome, variously known as “The Bar-Tender’s Guide,” “How to Mix Drinks” or “The Bon-Vivant’s Companion,” remains the cornerstone of American mixology and has even acquired cult status across the pond. Jerry Thomas may never have stepped foot into a Prohibition-era speakeasy (he died decades before the passage of the Eighteenth Amendment) but his spirit is alive and well at Vicolo Cellini 30, where excellent cocktails are served from Tuesday through Sunday from 11pm until 4am.

The space is pretty tight and reservations are highly recommended. Apparently you need a password to get in, though I’ve never been asked one. Be sure to call (+390696845937 or +393701146287) before turning up or risk being turned away at the door.
