Since 1951, the botanical garden of Porto includes:
- an historic garden, composed by three distinct areas separated by large hedges ("camellia");
- lakes with aquatic plants;
- an area with an important collection of gymnosperms and beeches, oaks, tulip, magnolia…
- a garden of succulents;
- greenhouses with tropical plants, subtropical, orchids and succulents.
