The Rua Santa Catarina is in its first section a commercial street. At the first intersection with the Rua Passos Manuel, the clock of the C & A building brings out the figures of São João, Infante D. Henrique, Almeida Garrett and Camilo Castelo Branco by beating certain hours.
From the intersection with Rua Passos Manuel (opened in 1874) you can see on the right a large building inaugurated on December 19, 1941 - The Coliseum of Porto. After on the right side there is the old Café Majestic, opened in 1921.
Below on the left it is the Grande Hotel do Porto, which for many years was considered the best hotel of the city (and ot is the oldest).
