Jardim do Almirante Reis is an interesting public garden located in the historic district of St. Mary Major (Old Town) near the ski lifts. This garden presents a new concept with platforms in the form of waves that come pre-plant trees and cut by walks in wood or stone to symbolize the valleys of the island. One of the great attractions of this area is the cable car that serves as the connection between Funchal and Monte.
