The museum brings together an important collection of embroidered Madeira, the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, exposed in various costumes and together with other items, and shows the running processes of Madeira embroidery and its history.

Apart from the Madeiran embroidery collection the Madeiran house Romanticism environment is also recreated, by exposing pieces of furniture Hepplewhite, Sheraton and Victorian eighteenth century and XI, which was due to the presence of a community British on the island of Madeira, linked to comercial wines and embroidery, who knew expand its influence. The English decorative styles were undoubtedly prevalent in the upper classes of the island.
