Varadero is Cuba's most important beach resort, located on a piece of land reaching out into the Atlantic, only a two-hour drive from the east of Havana.

ORIENTATION
The town has two areas: the Old and the New. In the Old Varadero is where most of the population live, while in the New Varadero you will find all inclusive beach resorts.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Varadero has a great weather all year round, but the best time to visit is probably between December and April, when the weather war and dry. In order to avoid the hurricane season, it’s better to avoid august and September.
HOW TO GET THERE
Juan Gualberto Gomez Airport is located about 10 km from the town centre.
You can take a taxi to the centre, for about 25-30CUC.
It is also possible to fly to Havana and from there take a bus or a taxi to Varadero. Viazul Buses arrive from Havana and Matanzas three times a day. These buses also stop at the Varadero airport.
TRAVELLING AROUND
The best way to get around town is on foot. It is also possible to take a bus, a taxi or a coco taxi, or even to rent a car or a scooter.
