Opened since 1782, this café is the oldest in Lisbon and is situated under the arches of the wellknown Praça do Comércio.
One of its most distinguished guests was the poet Fernando Pessoa, who here liked to dine or spend long hours writing.
The walls are decorated with photographs of the poet, a pair of beautiful antique tiles. As for the menu, it punctuate some of the best dishes from traditional Portuguese cuisine.
