Set up in 1933 by Miguel Boadas, born to Catalan parents in Havana (where he learned his trade at Hemmingway's Floridita Bar) This bar has classic decor - wooden and brass bar with the obligatory black and white photographs of various bartenders adorning the walls.
It is a tiny place with no tables, where you can stand at the bar and order from the long list of classic cocktails or try one of the house specials invented by Miguel himself Try the daiquiris, check out the art of past patrons on the walls - Miro - and contemplate retirement.

A landmark location in the old sailor’s district of Barceloneta, Can Paixano is bound to leave an indelible impression on its visitors. Also know as the ‘Champagne Bar’, there are no chairs and it is all standing room, but this place will get packed after 7pm.
The tavern atmosphere befits the available drink and fare. A selection of sparkling wines and cava (mostly of the establishment’s signature variety) is available on the condition you taste the tapas and special “bocadillos” (sandwiches) made with local sausages, which should hardly be a problem.
