Housed in the Bank of England itself this museum shows the history of the Bank from 1694, when it was founded by the Royal Charter to raise money for foreign wars.
Exhibits include a gold bar dating from ancient times, unique coin and bank note collections, as well as other items uncovered when the bank was rebuilt in the 1930's such as Roman pottery and a mosaic floor.
The museum illustrates the work of the bank and the financial system and offers a unique insight into of the history of London's currency.
