The Sarmiento House was the statesman's former residence , from 1855 until his death in 1888.

On the 50th anniversary of the death of Domingo F. Sarmiento, in 1888, it started to function as a museum.

The museum houses a collection centered on life of this national hero,a journalist and a President.
